It is a hybrid plant from the Philodendron genus with some bright and lushing leaves. Prince of the orange plant is a common household plant, mostly this plant is famous as a houseplant in the united states where conditions are totally suitable for this plant. It is one of my favorite philodendron varieties and super easy to care for. If you are a new gardener and starting in gardening then such low or easy-care plants are perfect for you.

It is a Hybridized cultivar of philodendron but like another philodendron, as Philodendron splendid it does not grow such big. As the philodendron genus is obtained from south American jungles, these plants can grow better as an outdoor plant but proper care as an indoor plant will make your plant bigger.

Growth Of Philodendron Prince Of Orange Plant

It has long silky and oval-shaped beautiful leaves. The color of the leaves changes with age, at the start newly growing leave color, will be somehow red and as time passes it will change towards yellow, and at the end, it will become green in color. With the time as some new leaves grow from the center of the plant, some old leaves die and fall down and it is totally normal.

Prince Of Orange Plant Care Guide

Regarding the care of any plant, we need to focus on a few main things like humidity, light, water, and soil conditions depending upon the natural habits of a plant. As philodendron is a rainforest plant but we are totally unable to provide such conditions, but we will maintain a good humidity level and will manage all other conditions to provide a highly suitable environment for this plant.

Light

It’s an eastern, west, northern, or any window plant as it needs bright and indirect light. Make sure that light is not too bright and dark so plants will get medium-filtered light, so a window is the best place. Make sure that sun rays are not allowed to reach the plant.

In the case of low light conditions, plant growth will be affected and new leaves will be weaker, while bright light conditions can change the color of leaves which can be dishearting.

Water

As a normal houseplant, you must follow the same process which we do for other houseplants. Like, let the soil dry before watering and a few others. It will prevent your plant from overwatering but you must need focus on plant needs while watering. Here are some steps:

  • Water when the soil looks dry
  • Don’t do overwater
  • Filtered or rainwater is recommended
  • Don’t allow the water to stay in the pot
  • Remove all of the standing water from the pot and don’t let it stop in the pot
